What about locks?
Locks is a part of getting control over a opponent either a step before breaking it or just to get control av a opponent.
To be able to do locks you need to be able to understands what’s happening with your opponents body. If you try to do a lock and the opponent understand what you are doing it will be more difficult to be able to do the lock. So a way of knowing about distractions is good to have. Even if the opponent is stronger than you it shouldn’t be a problem if you know how to get technically advantage.
It’s important to feel and understand what you are doing, because if you don’t have the right angle and pressure the opponent will get out off the lock. A good way of training is try lock counter flow. Try to set a lock and right before you are setting the lock the opponent counter. The you counter on his lock and so on. This is a good way to understand openings and how to get the lock stable as fast as possible.
It’s a fun way to train locks training.
If this is working you and your opponent can try to hit and kick at the same time, then you will understand how important it is to get controll over the situation:)
Have fun and play:)
